This is Frontier, the student organization of North American Studies in Renvall Institute, University of Helsinki, Finland.
Frontier has been active since 1993 and we hope to create and uphold customs and traditions that would unite all the students interested in the field for years to come. Besides organizing events and happenings for its members to enjoy one of our important goals is to function as the bridge between students, teachers and the Institute. Thus, we co-operate closely with the department and its staff having members in all its relevant governing organs.
We aim to unite the students to enjoy each other’s company and to get to know each other both socially and academically. We try to familiriaze ourselves with North American society, culture and traditions, as well as to expand our knowledge and interest in the field of North American Studies.
Our events range from Thanksgiving dinners and Halloween parties to study circles and Conference trips abroad. We welcome you to join us whether you are interested in becoming an active member of the organization or just to meet new people and have loads of fun!
